Through the Telehealth Infrastructure Grant Program administered by North Carolina's Office of Rural Health, Family Solutions was awarded grant funding in mid-2026. Nationwide, rural communities continue to face significant obstacles when attempting to access behavioral health care and essential medical services. To address these challenges, Family Solutions selected Caswell, Chatham, Randolph, and Rockingham counties as target areas for this grant initiative. In addition to being situated within the Family Solutions service area, these four counties feature elevated poverty rates, restricted broadband availability, and a scarcity of mental health professionals. Furthermore, each county carries official designation as a rural county from the NC Office of Rural Health and is federally designated as a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) for behavioral health. Although Family Solutions has a long history of delivering telehealth and serving rural populations, this grant funding will support ongoing efforts to enhance both the accessibility and quality of our telehealth services.
